Jesus said “ Again, truly I tell you that if two of you agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them” [Matthew 18: 19-20].
On the first Saturday of each month, Christians from the churches in Orpington gather to pray for the town. We meet for one hour (usually 9 – 10am) and, following a short introduction by the leader for the day (who is a member of the church where we are meeting), we pray for issues of concern and celebration in our town and in our local churches, and for our Christian witness in the community. No one is obliged to pray out loud – some remain silent and add their prayers to those offered audibly. God doesn’t mind!
In October, this meeting will be held at St. John’s for the first time. We look forward to welcoming all those who would like to join us for this hour of prayer for our community.
We will pray in the church and start promptly at 9am.
