The Faith Development Team has been asked to compile a list of books suitable for enquirers into the Christian faith. If you have any suggestions, please contact me with details of the author, title, and a couple of lines about the book. You can even make suggestions as comments to this article. You will need an account on the church website. If you've not got one, contact me for that, too.

Eric Reitan, Is God a Delusion: A Reply to Religion's Cultured Despisers
Probably the most solid of the popular responses to Richard Dawkins' The God Delusion, although the view of religion that Reitan defends is rather narrow so most Christians would want to build on it somewhat.

C S Lewis, Mere Christianity. Something of a classic, which means that all of Lewis's arguments for Christianity have been thoroughly challenged, but still a good starting point.

Rob Bell, Velvet Elvis. Mainly aimed at Christians struggling with some of the things they feel they are expected to believe or with the mismatch between the theory of Christianity and the practice.
